Sound Values
The unique power of sound and voice to access positive human values
- deep non-judgemental listening
- exploring the music of your emotions
- compassionate communication skills
Sound Values – A Foundation for Compassionate Action in the world
Sound Values introduces you to a simple set of breathwork, physical, sound and vocal practices - spoken and sung – that replace self-consciousness with self-confidence, fear with courage, and self-doubt with the capacity to develop an authentic and creative relationship both with yourself, your everyday life, and the world community.
The Sound Values skills include self-inquiry and non-judgemental listening practices, energy movement, spontaneous expression, a repertoire world music and song, devotional sound and chant, song-writing, spoken and sung improvisation, sound awareness work in large and small groups, the magical ‘’seven sounds of love’ and ‘singing field’ triads that open up unexpected doorways into four main realms of exploration:
- The art of Love
- The art of Living
- The art of Service
- The art of Compassion

Sound Values in Schools
Building Positive Human Values Through Sound and Song
“In our general education we are taught many things. The most fundamental knowledge has been largely ignored; how to manage our mind and emotions to develop and enjoy the fullest of what human life can offer”
Sound Values - What Is It?
Sound Values brings an inspiring new Communication Skills training course designed especially for Music Leaders and all those involved in the creation of positive, empowering listening and learning environments for young people through sound and song.
It is a distillation of 25 years research into the transforming power of sound by singer Chloe Goodchild, founder of The Naked Voice Charitable Foundation ( Reg.No 1103831) The Naked Voice Foundation www.thenakedvoice.com was established in 2004, to help expand The Naked Voice workshops and trainings into areas calling for a creative response to conflict, and non-violence through contemplative listening and sound.
The Naked Voice evolved from The Avon Peace Education Project, which Chloe pioneered in Bristol schools in 1982-5. APEP played a significant role in introducing Peace Education into schools nationwide.
Sound Values - Why?
Young people are desperate for wise counsel, and for the opportunity to engage with and harness their search for self-expression and meaning in these times of profound personal and global crisis. Sound Values is a response to this call.
Its methodology of sound offers newcomers and experienced practitioners alike, a unique meeting place or ‘singing field’ in which you can prepare yourself to be an inspiring resourceful Music Leader, uniquely creative and capable of communicating yourself in ways you never imagined possible. Once you have accessed the deep song of your own spirit you will enable everyone else to do so as well.
